When Jean-Claude Benéteau created Berry Services at the end of 1998, his idea was to provide a custom packaging service. Benéteau, formerly a production manager in a packaging factory, began to focus on a customer base from the clothing industry. “At the time, companies in the sector were starting to outsource en masse, but weren’t always able to inspect their goods upon arrival,” explains the CEO. “There was very high demand and few companies specialised in this area. We began by carrying out quality control. Today the range of services we provide is constantly growing.”
Quality control, smoothing, repairs, label insertion, placing garments on hangers, packing: “We find a solution to every problem,” says Jean-Claude Benéteau. “Companies’ specifications are more and more precise and specific,” he adds. Whether for luxury items or products for large retail chains, there is always at least one small thing that isn’t quite right and something to be brought into compliance within a very tight deadline.”
Near Châteauroux, Berry Services makes the most of its strategic location to meet customers’ deadlines, very often in less than a week. The company works with a number of transport partners. Some weeks, we work up to 48 hours, over six days, working hours are staggered and the number of employees can go from 50 up to 80 people. “We are lucky enough to have staff who are both skilled and versatile,” says Jean-Claude Benéteau. “The Berry region has a strong textile tradition.”
With a turnover that has grown by 30 to 50% every year since its creation, Berry Services has just expanded its facilities by 2,000 m², on top of the existing 3,000 m².
