Social responsibility

Because a company is nothing without its staff, the management of Berry Services has always maintained excellent labour relations with its employees and attaches great importance to their well-being at work.

Since the company's creation in 1998, the company's management has consistently been one step ahead of the French Labour Code and employee requests by introducing social protection measures that are much more favourable than those imposed by law.
Moreover, well before Berry Services' workforce reached the threshold of fifty people, at which point it became mandatory, the company set up a works council, a Health, Safety and Working Conditions Committee (CHSCT) and implemented an employee profit-sharing plan.

Gender equality

As a result of its activity in the ready-to-wear sector, Berry Services has the particular characteristic of employing many more women than men—in France, it is practically impossible to find men willing to take up a position as a dressmaker or ironer.
At Berry Services, a woman and a man in the same position receive the same salary,
and managerial and decision-making positions are held by both men and women.

Employee training

In order to make the staff as versatile as possible, Berry Services regularly and constantly trains its staff, either through in-house training or through training provided by external organisations.

Internal promotion

As part of its development, when creating new management positions, the company always gives priority to internal promotion over external recruitment. As such, the majority of team leaders and middle managers come from internal promotion.

Working conditions

Berry Services makes regular investments to improve the working conditions of its staff :

  • Workstations are equipped with height-adjustable tables to limit back pain.
  • Workstations are equipped with individual auxiliary lamps to ensure optimal visual comfort.
  • Each operator has a tablet on wheels, adjustable in height, to help with package handling and to allow packages to be placed at the correct working height.
  • Training on "Movements and Postures" is regularly provided to staff.
  • All the workshops are heated in winter and cooled in summer—there are few logistics warehouses with such equipment in France.
